Every drink on the server, from plain small beer to Arbor Gold. And a few darker things.

Potions are disabled on this server, so brews are how you obtain effects. Measure the time, the wood and the ingredients precisely, because each of them is scored separately.

Nobody has to watch a barrel. A brew continues ageing while you are offline, and even when no player is nearby.

How to brew

1. Cook. Boil the exact ingredients in a cauldron for the minutes on its card below. The cauldron needs something hot in the block right under it: fire, a lit campfire, lava or a magma block. A cauldron only cooks while you are nearby, so stay in the area.
2. Bottle. Right-click the cauldron with glass bottles.
3. Distill. Only some drinks need this. Run the bottles through a brewing stand the exact number of times the card says, with glowstone dust in the top slot and blaze powder beside it as fuel.
4. Age. Put the bottles in a barrel of the right wood, and leave them for the time on the card. Every time on this page is real time, and one year inside a barrel takes twenty real minutes.

Barrels

A barrel is where a drink matures, and you have two ways to obtain one.

Building a cask

Use a single kind of wood throughout, and attach a sign to the front reading Barrel.

The chat announces Barrel created, and from then on you right-click the barrel to deposit your bottles inside.

No message? One of these three is usually responsible.

• Two kinds of wood.
• A stair the wrong way up. Aim at the top of a block as you place it.
• The sign or fence touching other wood.

Stars and mistakes

Every drink earns 1 to 5 stars, according to how closely you followed the recipe, and a better batch gives a stronger effect. Its difficulty determines how much room for error you have, from Forgiving to Master.

Two mistakes destroy a batch outright. Omitting an ingredient the recipe requires ruins it, and so does distilling a drink that needs no distilling, or bottling a spirit you never distilled. The result is a permanently Ruined Brew that nothing can recover.

Everything else only costs you stars: the wrong wood, a barrel opened late, a cauldron a minute out.

Drunkenness fades on its own, and bread and milk lower it faster if you need to recover sooner.
