Quests
The players write the quests here. Follow one, or build your own.

Every quest on the board was written by an ordinary player and funded from their own purse. Complete one, and their septims become yours.
Following
| Command | Purpose |
|---|---|
/quests | The board: author, task, payment, days remaining |
/quests where | Points you toward the guide who offers it |
/quests abandon | Releases it, and your progress with it |
You accept a quest by speaking to its guide and selecting the reply that agrees, rather than by typing anything. Your progress is then displayed beside your screen and advances while you work, and returning to that same guide collects the payment. Three quests may be held at once.
Building
Every command below edits one draft. Repeat any of them to correct it, and nothing becomes public until you publish.
The draft
| Command | Purpose |
|---|---|
/quest new <title> | Begins a draft |
/quest about <words> | The description shown on the board |
/quest show | Reads the whole draft back |
/quest publish | Takes the coin, opens the quest |
/quest scrap | Discards the draft, returns the coin |
Your guide
| Command | Purpose |
|---|---|
/quest guide <name> | Places your guide where you stand, or renames them |
/quest skin <player> | Borrows that player's appearance |
/quest guide move | Moves them to where you stand now |
/quest guide watch | They turn toward whoever passes |
/quest guide patrol | They walk between the spots you marked |
/quest guide still | They stand and stare ahead |
You have one guide, and every quest you publish is offered by them.
Marking a patrol route means standing where you want them to walk and
repeating /quest guide patrol at each spot.
What your guide says
| Command | Spoken when |
|---|---|
/quest say <words> | Somebody speaks to them. Repeat for another line |
/quest offer <words> | The reply that accepts |
/quest refuse <words> | The reply that declines |
/quest wait <words> | Somebody returns before finishing |
/quest thank <words> | Payment is delivered |
The steps
Each step observes one particular action. Steps are chosen from this list rather than described in words, because the server must observe the work honestly before it pays anybody.
| Task | Written as |
|---|---|
| defeat | /quest step defeat draugr 20 |
| mine | /quest step mine iron_ore 64 |
| build | /quest step build stone_bricks 200 |
| gather | /quest step gather nirnroot 32 |
| craft | /quest step craft steel_sword 1 |
| fish | /quest step fish salmon 10 |
| travel | /quest step travel here 1 |
| return | /quest step return guide 1 |
| Command | Purpose |
|---|---|
/quest steps | Lists the steps in order |
/quest undo | Removes the last one |
A quest carries five steps at most, completed in the sequence you established. That ordering is what makes a genuine story possible: travel to the ruin, defeat whatever guards it, return to report.
Reward, and what comes first
| Command | Purpose |
|---|---|
/quest reward <septims> | Sets the payment, 1 to 500 |
/quest needs <quest> | Locks it until that quest is finished |
Always coin, always your own. No quest awards items, and no quest creates coin. Those two limits are why the board deserves your trust.
Your septims depart the moment you publish, and the server holds them in trust until somebody earns them, so publishing beyond your means is impossible. Should nobody finish the quest, or should you scrap it yourself, the entire stake returns.
/quest needs is how a story continues across several
quests. Lock the second behind the first, and readers meet them in the
order you intended.
You cannot complete your own quest, and neither can anybody sharing your connection.
Example
Podrick guards a farm north of the road, and his author walked to the gate and typed eleven commands:
/quest new Wolves of the Pale
/quest about Podrick has lost three goats to the pack.
/quest guide Podrick
/quest skin Bjornolfr
/quest guide watch
/quest say Wolves have taken three of my goats.
/quest say I am too old to hunt them myself.
/quest offer I will hunt them
/quest refuse Not today
/quest step defeat wolf 3
/quest step return guide 1
/quest reward 60
Then /quest show to check the draft, and /quest
publish to open it, at which moment sixty septims departed his
author's purse. Speak to Podrick early and he reports that the pack still
runs. Return with three wolves defeated and he delivers the sixty
immediately.

A quest cannot
Your quest observes the world, remembers what a player achieved, speaks to them, and pays from your purse. It creates absolutely nothing.
So there are no items, no coin from nowhere, no commands, no ranks and nobody teleported anywhere. That restriction is precisely why your own septims are safe here.
Rules
Your title, your description and your guide's words are all public, so the ordinary chat rules govern them. These are removed immediately, and repeat offenders lose the board:
- Tasks nobody could reasonably accomplish, published to waste time.
- Words that advertise, beg, or name another server.
- Quests that ask another player to break a rule.
Staff may remove any quest. Your stake always returns, because removal is never a financial punishment.
